Repository navigation
Find the path before changing the code. Inthis Studio helps you follow a request through unfamiliar files and record what each layer actually does.
router.get('/items', controller.list);
// controller → service → repository
const items = await service.list(context);
return response.json(items);Review before applying
Compare actual behavior with the expected result. If a check fails, investigate it before applying more changes.
Connection
Base URL, credentials and a reachable server.
Project
Record the files involved and distinguish observed calls from assumptions before editing anything.
router.get('/items', controller.list);
// controller → service → repository
const items = await service.list(context);
return response.json(items);Find the code responsible for the behavior you want
Inthis Studio gives application developers a Windows workspace for investigating code with a connected AI model. Open the project folder and describe the behavior you want to understand before requesting a patch. A useful first result is a short account of which files own the behavior, what they receive and where their results go. That makes the next coding decision easier to inspect.
Consider a request that starts in routes.ts and passes through a controller, service and repository. This is an example project investigation, not an automatic tracing feature. Ask the assistant to follow the actual calls and identify where a proposed change belongs. Then review whether its suggested edit preserves the responsibilities of neighboring layers, including the response expected by the caller.
Keep the investigation and correction in the same conversation, adding relevant files when the explanation reaches an unfamiliar dependency. Inthis Studio accepts supported OpenAI-compatible or Anthropic connections, with credentials when required. An unrestricted AI model is an option only when your chosen endpoint provides one; its restrictions, tools and context remain provider-dependent. Read the proposed changes and run your application checks before accepting the explanation as a working fix.
Questions about following application code
Can Inthis Studio automatically map every request?
The request path is a task you can discuss with the connected assistant, not a promised automatic map. Ask for file references and verify that each reported call exists in the current project.
Where should a change across several layers begin?
Begin with the layer that owns the behavior, after inspecting its callers and dependencies. Describe the response that must remain stable so the assistant can propose a bounded change rather than moving responsibilities without explanation.
What if the assistant cannot see a repository method?
Provide the relevant implementation or direct attention to its file. Ask the assistant to mark any unresolved dependency. Context limits vary by model and server, so an incomplete view should not become a confident conclusion.
How do I confirm the route still behaves correctly?
Run the relevant project tests and exercise the request with representative input. Compare both the response and any storage effects with your requirement; a plausible call-path explanation does not establish that the changed application works.
